School · Day to day

Timetable and everyday life

Throughout the day, children move through different spaces and take part in various dynamics, activities and proposals, which take place in settings designed and prepared to encourage each kind of learning and experience. We are committed to slow education, which respects different rhythms and allows the time needed to go deeper into processes, without an overly fragmented structure. The organisation of the day is therefore flexible and can be adapted over the year according to the group’s needs.

Primary

The organisation of the primary timetable varies according to the cycle and the needs of the different groups. That is why the lower cycle and upper cycle timetables are not exactly the same. The timetable below is a guide and shows how the day is usually organised. In addition, over the year the timetable can be flexibly adapted according to the rhythms, needs and dynamics of each group.

Over the week, children use different spaces depending on the activities and proposals taking place. When projects are done at the Lab, the facilities of the Pedagogical Lab are used, and on sports days the facilities of the CEM Guinardó sports centre are used. In addition, one day a week we go on an outing outside school, which may be to natural or cultural spaces or other places in the neighbourhood and the city, thus extending learning contexts beyond the school.

Outings

Every group goes on weekly outings. In the early years stage, these outings are mainly to nearby spaces, such as the neighbourhood’s parks and gardens. In primary, the scope of outings gradually widens and the learning spaces and contexts become more varied, both natural and cultural, in the neighbourhood and the city. We go on outings to parks and green spaces, to Collserola, to the beach, to cultural venues and to other places considered of interest for the projects and processes developed over the year. In addition, in primary, once a month we visit the Mercè Rodoreda Library.

Summer camp

The school offers a three-week summer camp. In the 2026-27 school year, it will run from 22 June to 9 July. The summer camp is included in the July fee.

The camp is organised and run both by Espai Aigua’s teaching team and by external activity leaders who share the project’s approach. This combination keeps familiar reference teachers present while bringing in a team of activity leaders, ensuring a careful handover and continuity in how the children are accompanied. At the same time, this arrangement gives the teaching team time to close the school year and to prepare and plan the next one.
